The Baruch Business Academy continues to grow across The City University of New York (CUNY) system, welcoming Bronx Community College (BCC) as its sixth partner institution.

The partnership creates a direct and supported pathway for students enrolled in BCC’s Associate of Science in Business Administration program to transfer to Baruch and earn a bachelor’s degree at the Zicklin School of Business—consistently ranked among the top business schools in the nation.

Eligible students are guaranteed admission and receive personalized academic advising, peer and alumni mentoring, and access to career development resources.

    Expanding Opportunity Across CUNY

At a signing ceremony held at BCC on April 30, Baruch President S. David Wu highlighted the Academy’s role in creating clear, collaborative pathways that helps all students succeed.

“When faculty, staff, and administrators work together across institutions—students respond,” Wu said. “They see the possibility. They see the next step. And they begin to imagine a future that is both ambitious and attainable. We want you to know that there is a place for you at Baruch, and that we are ready to help you succeed when you get there.”

For BCC President Larry Johnson, Jr., this marks the second Academy partnership he has celebrated aimed at strengthening the transfer process for CUNY students and expanding high-impact academic and career opportunities.

“This agreement is about more than a process or a piece of paper,” said Dr. Johnson. “It reflects our commitment to creating clear pathways for our students – many of whom are the first in their families to pursue higher education – so they can continue their education and move toward their goals with the support they need.”

    Growing Impact

Since its launch in fall 2022, the Baruch Business Academy has had steady growth.

What began with just 20 students from BMCC, the Academy now enrolls nearly 1,000 undergraduates across all partner institutions who are on path to earn their Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from Baruch.

Eleven Business Academy students have graduated from Baruch, with several securing roles at leading firms, such as Deloitte. One is continuing to earn an MBA at Baruch this June.

With the addition of BCC, the Baruch Business Academy now includes six CUNY Community Colleges: Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), LaGuardia, Queensborough, Guttman, and Hostos.
