Baruch is Among 25 Colleges Nationwide With Highest Payoff: Forbes

    August 30, 2024

    Share

Baruch College was selected by Forbes as one of top 25 schools in the U.S. offering a great return on investment, producing successful, high-earning graduates from all economic backgrounds with less student debt burdens.

Forbes said Baruch’s inclusion on its “Colleges With The Highest Payoff” list “cements the New York school’s reputation as a cost-effective option for bachelor’s degree seekers…as graduates recoup their net cost within about five months, and low-income graduates do so in about two months, the fastest of any school on this list.”

    A Focus on Innovation

Forbes adds, “With its bustling location in Midtown, students can build on the university’s focus in business and innovation. Known for its unique vertical campus, Baruch is stacked with classrooms, performing arts centers, a student activity center, and… students can participate in more than 103 clubs and organizations.

“The student body’s diversity is reflective of New York City, with racial and ethnic minorities making up 68% of the undergraduate population. With more than 19,700 students enrolled, the school prides itself on educating one of the most diverse student populations in the United States.”

Baruch is among nine institutions from The City University of New York system on this list.

    Methodology

To determine the 25 colleges offering students the best return on investment, Forbes looked at each school’s price-to-earnings premium, which shows how many years it takes for graduates to recoup the net cost of their education, and the schools’ debt-to-percent-borrowed index, which takes into account how many students take on debt to attend the school, and how much debt those graduates leave with.
