The Baruch College Athletic Department has won back-to-back CUNYAC Commissioner Cup Trophies!

The award was presented to the Athletic Department at the 37th Annual Michael Steuerman Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 18, at the Terrace on the Park in Queens.

The annual Commissioner Cup recognizes the most successful athletic program in the senior CUNY Athletic Conference division as determined by a scoring system that rewards a school for success during the regular season and championship competition.

For the year, the Bearcats won CUNYAC Championships in the men’s sports of volleyball, swimming, basketball, and tennis. They finished runner-up in the sports of women’s swimming and tennis, along with men’s soccer.

They won the regular season (1st place) championship in men’s swimming, soccer, basketball, and tennis.

The deciding factor in helping the Bearcats win this year’s trophy came down to the sport of softball. The Bearcats and Hunter played an elimination game to decide who would advance to the softball championship. The Bearcats defeated Hunter 4-0, giving them 5 points, which helped the Bearcats total 128 points, beating Hunter with 126.
