Baruch College Alumni Named Among New York City’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars
City & State names graduates of Marxe, Weissman and Zicklin schools as “ambitious movers and shakers fighting to improve their communities”November 1, 2019
Four Baruch College alumni—who are under the age of 40—have been named to City & State’s 2019 class of “New York City 40 Under 40 Rising Stars” list.
The alumni—who received undergraduate or graduate degrees from Marxe, Weissman and Zicklin schools—join 36 other notable New Yorkers being recognized for “reenergizing their professions and challenging the status quo.” According to City & State, “This year’s class of New York City 40 Under 40 Rising Stars has its share of ambitious movers and shakers fighting to improve their communities.”

- Rowhan Baptiste
Degree: BA ’11, Weissman School of Arts and Sciences
Position: Associate, Communications and Public Affairs, Global Strategy Group—a public affairs, communications, and research firm for companies, causes, and campaigns
- Ebony Meeks Laidley
Degree: MPA ’12, Marxe School of Public and International Affairs
Position: Senior Adviser, New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson’s Office
- Gabriela Sandoval Requena
Degree: BBA ’10, MPA ’13, Zicklin School of Business; Marxe School of Public and International Affairs
Position: Director of Regulatory Affairs and Equity Programs, Somos Community Care, a network of nearly 2,500 providers in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens working to ensure better health care for Medicaid members
- India Sneed
Degree: BA ’08, Weissman School of Arts and Sciences
Position: Associate, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, international law firm with offices in 41 locations in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East
