Baruch College Honored for Digital Storytelling Excellence
Second Straight Year Baruch Wins Telly AwardsJune 3, 2019
Baruch College’s marketing efforts have won two 2019 Telly Awards. Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards honor excellence in television programming and commercials and nonbroadcast and digital video and are the world’s premier honor for digital storytelling.
The 2019 winners—announced on Monday, May 20—include:
- “Baruch College: Celebrating 50 Years of Access to Excellence and the American Dream” won a Bronze Telly in the category of Branded Content General–Documentary. The 4½-minute video, the first in a three-part series produced for the College’s 50th anniversary, recounts the dramatic story of Baruch’s successful campaign for independence in 1968.
- “Baruch Rocks: Student Opportunities,” part of the Baruch Rocks series, won a Bronze Telly in the Social Video Craft-Fully Animated category. The lively 1½-minute video showcases the College’s immersive learning environment, career resources, and life-changing experiential opportunities.
Baruch College’s videos competed against creative works from corporations, advocacy groups, advertising agencies, and other institutions of higher education. The Telly Award Judging Council—a group of leading video and television experts from some of the most prestigious companies in entertainment, publishing, advertising, and emerging technology—selected the winners. Both of Baruch’s award-winning videos were produced in-house through interdepartmental collaboration, with the College’s Office of Communications, Marketing & Public Affairs taking a leading role.
