Baruch College Named as One of the Best Colleges in 2019 by The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review has once again named Baruch College as one of the best in America, according to its annual survey of The Best 384 Colleges – 2019 edition. The popular guidebook surveyed 138,000 students nationwide to rate their schools on dozens of topics ranging from academic excellence to quality of campus life.
On top of this national recognition, Baruch College is also included in The Princeton Review’s “Best Northeastern” list of 225 schools that are “academically outstanding and well worth considering,” and “Colleges That Pay You Back,” a selection of 209 schools based on institutional data, affordability and career outcomes.
“Greatest City in the World”
The Princeton Review notes that Baruch’s three schools, the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, and the Zicklin School of Business are “located in Manhattan and take full advantage of being in the greatest city of the world.” It reports that students “here have access to internships, big companies, and…Wall Street.”
Top-Notch Faculty and Career Programs
The Baruch College profile points to the “vast amount of resources” available and calls out one student’s experience with the faculty–“Some of my business professors came from leading huge corporations, and their anecdotes about their prior work helps students internalize the material.”
Students report “an impressive number of career developing programs on campus that are free of charge and readily available” and “it is clear that the professors at Baruch have first-hand experience in the material they are teaching to students.”
Diverse and Engaged Student Body
According to the survey, Baruch is “full of bright and ambitious minds.” Being a student at Baruch “means you learn to interact with peers from all over the world” since there are 168 countries represented on campus.
Due to low in-state (as well as reasonable out-of-state) tuition, many that attend school at Baruch are “already working on interesting and impressive positions.” Students said they come to Baruch “to improve themselves,” which increases the level of maturity in the classroom.
The survey describes Baruch as a unique commuter school that “has an involved student body” where “there is a sense of community through clubs and extracurriculars.”
High Marks for Quality of Life
The guide also includes top rankings in areas that address the social aspects of campus life. Baruch received high marks in the following categories.

Methodology
The 2019 edition based its rankings on surveys of 138,000 students who attended the 384 schools, during 2017-18 and/or the previous two school years. Students answered about their school’s academics/administration, life at their college, student body, and themselves.
