For the fourth consecutive year, Baruch College President S. David Wu is among those honorees celebrated by City & State for its “The 2023 Power of Diversity: Asian 100” list, recognizing New York’s most politically powerful Asian Americans.

According to City & State, Baruch has “thrived under Wu’s leadership” since his tenure began in July 2020, and the President helped grow the College’s enrollment by 10 percent during the pandemic.

In its profile of President Wu, City & State said: “Originally from Taiwan, Wu is an advocate of nurturing diversity and providing access to quality education for low-income students at Baruch, where the majority of students qualify for federal Pell Grants.”

City & State added that Baruch was recently named a top producer for Fulbright students and scholars by the U.S. State Department.

The “Power of Diversity: Asian 100” recognition is in addition to two previous honors from City & State this year. In February, President Wu was selected as one of 10 Lifetime Achievement Honorees for its annual “50 Over 50” list, followed by being named to the  “Higher Education Power 100” list in March.
