For the third consecutive year, Baruch College President S. David Wu, PhD, has been named to City & State’s “Higher Education Power 100” list, which recognizes New York’s most influential leaders in higher education.

President Wu ranks #27 on the selective list, which appears in the March 13th special edition of City & State magazine.

In its profile of President Wu, City & State stated: “As the first Asian American to lead a CUNY college, S. David Wu is leading Baruch College using his training as a systems engineer with a career in academia spanning over three decades. Wu took over the college in the early days of the pandemic, establishing Baruch’s Task Force for the Future with the goal of engaging the college community to address long-term issues based on pandemic-emboldened challenges. Wu talks about his passion to change the status quo in higher education, with a focus on growing academic access for underrepresented groups.”

Since President Wu arrived at Baruch in 2020, City & State has consistently recognized his impact and visionary leadership in New York City’s high-powered education sector –– most recently by naming him a Lifetime Achievement Honoree in its “Fifty Over 50” list. President Wu has also appeared on City & State’s annual “Power of Diversity: Asian 100” list each year of his presidency.

In 2021, the Asian American Business Development Center named President Wu as one of the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business”—the only awardee representing the education sector among the other honorees who were C-suite and senior executives from Fortune 500 companies and global brands.
