May 14, 2024
Lin Peng, PhD, Krell Chair Professor of Finance in the Bert W. Wasserman Department of Economics and Finance, has been named a 2024 Influential Leader by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the world’s largest business education alliance.
Dr. Peng is one of 22 business school faculty to receive the honor, which recognizes outstanding faculty and alumni from AACSB-accredited business schools whose work inspires positive change in the business world and society at large.
Peng’s research encompasses sustainable finance, social networks, and behavioral finance, and aims to address climate change by creating incentives and policies that encourage businesses to mitigate their environmental impact and strengthen their long-run sustainability. She has won numerous teaching and research awards and has been published in leading economic and financial journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, among others. Her research has been featured by media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Reuters, and Institutional Investor. She co-founded Baruch College’s annual Conference on Climate Change Research, Teaching, and Collaboration.
Peng’s latest analysis, which examines how to design CEO incentive contracts to promote corporate social responsibility, was initiated with a grant from the United Nations-sponsored Principles of Responsible Investing, the world’s leading proponent of incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues into investment decisions.
“I’m delighted to be named an AACSB Influential Leader,” said Peng. “I’m passionate about long-term sustainability and the environment, and I hope this honor will show that the financial markets and business community can be powerful allies in the ongoing struggle to save the planet.”
“Dr. Peng’s work demonstrates the potential of business school research to address some of today’s most critical challenges,” added Lily Bi, AACSB president and CEO. “The knowledge Dr. Peng is producing will help inform and create real change in the world.”
