Baruch College ranked #1 overall on the Schools.com “Best Colleges for Organizational Psychology Degree Programs 2018-19” list.

In its ranking, Schools.com was looking for institutions with “strong records of providing affordable education and graduating students on time.” Within the methodology, Baruch finished second and seventh, respectively, for affordable tuition and graduation rate. Schools.com also said Baruch has the “second most prominent organizational psychology program among the schools surveyed.”

Undergraduate students can obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration in industrial/organizational psychology from the Zicklin School of Business. For many students, the BBA in industrial/organizational psychology is a terminal degree. This degree allows students to pursue careers in business, including sales, advertising, marketing, human resource management, as well as apply for a variety of jobs within governmental agencies or engage in public opinion or market research.

Additionally, the Weissman School of Arts & Sciences offers a Master of Science in industrial/organizational psychology as well as a doctoral degree. This MS program prepares students to pursue practitioner or research careers focused on human behavior in the workplace. The program emphasizes the theoretical principles of industrial/organizational psychology as well as the application of these theories in the business world.

    What is Organizational Psychology?

Organizational psychology degree programs combine coursework about human motivation and behavior with business classes. Professionals in this field use their “understanding of how people think and act to help businesses create systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness,” Schools.com said. Some industrial/organizational psychologists provide general services, while others are employed for a specific task such as coaching business executives or creating training procedures.

    Methodology

Schools.com utilized a 10-point scale to evaluate all two-year and four-year schools who have an undergraduate degree in industrial/organizational psychology on the following points: in-state undergraduate tuition and fees; graduation rate; accessibility; institutional spending; student-to-faculty ratio; flexibility; size of program; and related subjects.
