Baruch College Student to Attend the Future Leaders Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity in Scotland

Vickie Savvides (’19), a Macaulay Honors student at the Zicklin School of Business, has been invited to attend the highly selective Future Leaders Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity at the Glasgow School of Art and the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. The program hosts American students to learn about Scotland’s culture, history, and creative and technological industries.
“I’m most looking forward to immersing myself in all that is Scotland: culture, innovation, technology, creativity, food, diplomacy, all of it,” Savvides said. “Traveling to a new country is an exciting, rhythmic process, especially when you are craving to learn more about it.”
Aspirations for an International Career
Savvides, who is studying accountancy, believes that this opportunity will support her longer-term dream of becoming an international taxation attorney.
“This program aligns with my career goals in that it works to develop intercultural and leadership skills,” she said. “I’m eager to expand my global network and apply all that I learn in Glasgow to my future career endeavors.”
About the Scotland Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity
The Scotland Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity is a three-week academic and cultural program for U.S students, hosted by the Glasgow School of Art and the University of Strathclyde. Faculty is drawn from both institutions, along with and senior professionals from the private and public sectors. Participants will explore Scotland’s culture, history, and creative and technological industries and be explore Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the Scottish Highlands.
