Baruch College Students Win Gilman International Scholarships
December 21, 2022
Next semester, seven Baruch College undergraduates will be studying abroad as recipients of the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Gilman Scholarship Program provides students who may be unable to study overseas due to financial constraints with up to $5,000 in aid towards program costs.
Gilman scholars who are studying a critical need language while abroad can also apply for a supplemental award of up to $3,000 to assist with their international travel. One Baruch student is a recipient of this award.
The program, which is implemented by the Institute of International Education, “enables American students to gain proficiency in diverse languages and cultures, skills that are critically important to their academic and career development.”
Since Fall 2018, the College has had 63 Gilman Scholarship recipients.
