College: One of Life’s Most Important Investments
In its profile of Baruch College, Forbes noted that “According to data gathered in a 2017 study led by Harvard economist Raj Chetty, the NY Times ranked Baruch in the top 10 colleges for economic mobility, meaning its students are among the most likely to move from the bottom fifth of income distribution to the top three-fifths.”
To determine the rankings, Forbes scored 300 four-year colleges and universities throughout the country on net price, net debt, alumni earnings, graduation rates, academic quality and access for low-income students.

Forbes’ fourth annual ranking of the 300 Best Value Colleges compared data on 645 colleges and universities across all 50 states against their peers. Every school received scores in the following six areas: alumni earnings, net price, net debt, school quality, timely graduation, and population of Pell Grant recipients. The list evaluates institutions offering four-year degrees and does not include private for-profit schools. Read more about the methodology here.
