Baruch College Welcomes the Class of 2028
August 27, 2024
Baruch buzzed with excitement on August 27 as new students representing the Class of 2028 arrived on campus, marking the beginning of the academic journey at the College.
The incoming class comprises approximately 4,100 students: 2,500 first-year students and 1,600 who transferred from other colleges.
The new students were formally inducted into the Baruch community at the annual Convocation ceremony. The celebratory event connects the incoming class with college leaders, including President S. David Wu who said they are an “exceptionally high-achieving, diverse, and driven group.”
President Wu added, “Over the next four years, your journey at Baruch will be transformative. Baruch is where your worldviews will expand, your ideas will evolve, and your voice will be amplified. This is where you’ll connect what you know with what you’re learning, and you’ll become a vital part of our engaged, collaborative community. And we are all excited to see what you achieve.”
After the ceremony, Baruch hosted a carnival on the Clivner=Field Plaza on East 25th Street where students explored an exciting variety of student clubs and organizations, established connections with their peers, and began discovering new passions on campus and the local neighborhood.
