Baruch One Stop Shop Launches, Centered on Student Services
April 11, 2022
Baruch College is excited to announce the launch of its student-focused, student-centered Baruch One Stop Shop (BOSS) on campus. The BOSS office—located on the first floor of the Newman Vertical Campus in room 1-116—offers a broad range of student services, and this on-campus hub will be the spot where students can go and get their questions answered.
Everything from registration to financial aid to academic questions, student-facing staff of the BOSS come from across the College and are trained in the full range of student services in order to streamline and provide comprehensive assistance to students.
“This is a momentous step forward in Baruch’s aim of providing integrated and comprehensive student services,” said Baruch College Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Linda Essig. “With collaboration between the Offices of Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, and Student Life, the BOSS will be an integral aspect of how students are supported on their journeys at Baruch.”
“It is important for the College to meet students where they are and provide the guidance and resources to best meet their needs,” said Baruch College Vice President of Enrollment Services and Strategic Academic Initiatives Mary Gorman. “This is the premise of the BOSS, and we look forward to continuing to evolve and create a stellar experience that helps students thrive.”
“Student service is at the heart of our collective work, and this space will make it easier for students to tap into resources, referrals, and solutions,” said Baruch College Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Art King.
BOSS Info: Hours of Operation
The BOSS is open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students can walk in and ask questions; appointments are not required. (Enter the NVC by the 25th Street Entrance and head to the left, away from the turnstiles.)
For students’ convenience, the BOSS will also continue to offer services virtually via Zoom from 1–4 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and 10am–1 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

New Campus Spaces for Students
The BOSS is the latest student-centered space to be unveiled over the last calendar year.
In November 2021, the Allen G. and Mary E. Aaronson Student Center—located within the Madison Square Station historic post office building on East 24th Street—was transformed into a dedicated area with study spaces, lounges, and meeting rooms for connecting and building community.
In October 2021, the Baruch community gathered to celebrate the official opening of the Clivner=Field Plaza at East 25th Street, a much-needed open green space that helps to define the College’s urban campus and serves as a hub for student life.
In January 2021, the first phase of an historic renovation of the Lawrence and Eris Field Building at 17 Lex was completed, including a redesign of the facade and lobby and a brand new student lounge on the second floor.
