Baruch Undergraduates Win Freeman-ASIA Scholarships
May 30, 2024

This fall, three Baruch students will study abroad, thanks to winning Freeman-ASIA scholarships.
This program provides funding up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduates with demonstrated financial need to study in East or Southeast Asia. The scholarships will defray the costs of studying abroad, such as airfare, living expenses, local transportation, and books.
Meet Baruch’s winners and their host countries:
- Jaydin Mohan (BBA, Computer Information Systems ’26), South Korea
- Yonglin Wu (BBA, International Business ’26 who is also a Provost Scholar), China
- Anna Yoshikawa (BBA, International Business ’25), Japan
Another scholarship recipient, Yukako Hori (majoring in Financial Risk and Morality and Ethics ’25), was named an alternate.
About the Freeman-ASIA Award
Freeman-ASIA is sponsored by the Freeman Foundation, a private foundation with offices in Honolulu. The program’s goal is to increase the number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures.
From its inception in 2001, Freeman-ASIA has made study abroad in East and Southeast Asia possible for over 5,000 U.S. undergraduates from more than 600 institutions.
Student Scholarship Support
Baruch College’s Office of National & Prestigious Fellowships Advising supported the students throughout the Freeman-ASIA application process.
