For the second consecutive year, Baruch College President S. David Wu was recognized by City & State on its “2026 Trailblazer in Higher Education” list, which features 62 leaders of public and private colleges and universities, government officials, advocates, organizers and others who are “deftly adapting curricula to new realities, visionaries rebuilding and reshaping campuses, and academics tackling the toughest issues of the day.”

In its profile of the President, City & State pointed to the recently renamed 23rd Street subway station for the No. 6 train as “23rd Street-Baruch College” as “one example of the prominence that S. David Wu is bringing to Baruch.”

City & State also highlighted his leadership on several other projects, including the launch of an AI Leadership Initiative to help build a practical and institutionally grounded framework for AI integration across the College; embarking on a new infrastructure master plan; and expanding the work of The Antisemitism Studies Laboratory, housed within Baruch’s Sandra Kahn Wasserman Jewish Studies Center, with a $75,000 gift from AddressHate.

Wu is among nine leaders from The City University of New York system who were honored. In 2025, he received additional recognition by City & State being named to both the “Manhattan Power 100” and the “50 Over 50 Alumni” lists.
