For the fourth consecutive year, Baruch College President S. David Wu is featured in City & State’s “2026 Manhattan Power 100,” an annual list recognizing “Manhattanites who are true power brokers” in New York City and state politics and government.

President Wu was the highest-ranking leader of a public college among the honorees, earning the #52 position.

‘One of nation’s top public colleges’

In its profile of President Wu, City & State credited Wu with helping position Baruch as “one of the nation’s top public colleges for social mobility and economic value.”

The publication highlighted recent initiatives, including the development of a campus master plan and a collegewide effort to build artificial intelligence literacy across disciplines.

The profile also noted two significant milestones from the previous year: the Metropolitan Transportation Authority decision to rename the 23rd Street 6 train stop to “23rd Street – Baruch College,” a tribute to the institution’s enduring ties to New York City, and a record-breaking $1.96 million raised for the Baruch College Fund to support student success.

Honored Among New York’s Influential Leaders

Since becoming Baruch’s president in July 2020, Wu has earned a series of recognitions from City & State.

Most recently, he was named a Trailblazer in Higher Education in both 2026 and 2025. Last year, he was selected for the publication’s “50 Over 50” list, which recognizes standout out leaders in New York chosen from a pool of 500 previous honorees.
