Fred Burke, Director of the Graduate Career Management Center in the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College is serving on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) board of directors for a second year.

Having worked in higher education career services for 22 years, Burke has been actively involved in local and national professional associations during his tenure. Before joining the NACE Board, he co-chaired three committees including co-chair of the National Conference in 2014.

Burke served on NACE’s Student Career Readiness, First-Time Conference Attendees, and Professional Development committees, helping frame conversations between career centers and employers.  He has been an active NACE Mentor for New Professionals since 2010. In January 2016, Fred joined the NACE Faculty to teach in the Career Coaching Certification Program.

“I am thrilled to serve on the Board of Directors for my professional association (NACE),”said Burke.

“I am extremely passionate about my work with college student career development and the role we play on a college campus helping students explore majors, plan, and prepare for internships and jobs upon graduation”

The Graduate Career Management Center provides graduate students MS/MBA and alumni of the Zicklin School of Business with a wide-range of career development programs and services.

“Our work is rapidly changing based on a variety of factors (student career readiness, student preparation, the economy and employer hiring needs, and technology). In my view, the Career Center Director is a campus leader, always advocating for students, working with employers both existing employers but seeking new ones, a partner with Alumni Relations, supporter of Faculty and the academic mission of the college, technology savvy and visible both on and off campus. I am happy to represent Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College and The City University of New York on a national level with my involvement in NACE.
