College Guidebook Praises Baruch College as a Top Feeder School for Professional Outcomes
March 18, 2021
Baruch College is among 150 colleges and universities across the U.S. featured in Colleges Worth Your Money: A Guide to What America’s Top Schools Can Do for You, a book that helps college applicants determine which schools can benefit them both as students and after graduation.
The numerous topics and metrics covered in this guidebook—which provides comprehensive information for gauging the return on investment of America’s top higher education institutions—include college retention rates, internship and job placements, median earnings, and top feeder colleges to the best graduate schools and most desirable professions.
The guidebook calls Baruch “a gem within the CUNY (City University of New York) system.” Baruch students can register for majors and minors from three schools within the college: the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, and the Zicklin School of Business.
‘Baruch Shines Bright in the Eyes of Employers’
Baruch’s professional outcomes for its graduates received high praise in the guidebook. The guidebook highlights that within six months of graduation, 80 percent of the class of 2019 were already employed or in full-time graduate programs.
The guidebook says Baruch is one of the few accessible public institutions that is a direct feeder to many of Wall Street’s top banks. Baruch’s profile notes the top employers for graduates of the Class of 2019 were JP Morgan (23 graduates), PwC (12), EY (11), Bank of America (9), and Citi (8). Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, and KPMG were other companies scooping up six or more 2019 graduates.
“Baruch shines bright in the eyes of employers, even those New York City juggernauts with a taste for Ivy League grads,” the guidebook says. “Baruch is a certifiable commuter school with an outstanding reputation. This school is unequivocally worth every cent for Big Apple denizens.”
