Money Names Baruch the Northeast’s Only Public Five-Star College

Money highlighted Baruch’s New York City location and above average median early-career earnings for alumni and the opportunities it provides students and graduates for career success.
Baruch College is one of just 17 public colleges and universities nationwide to earn five stars in Money’s “Best Colleges in America 2026”— and the only public institution in the Northeast to receive the publication’s highest rating.
This marks the second time Baruch earned top marks since Money introduced its new rating system in 2023. Previously, the College consistently ranked as the #1 public college in Northeast or tri-state area.
To help students and families identify colleges that deliver exceptional value, Money evaluated 735 public and private institutions across the country based on tangible outcomes, including tuition, student debt, and alumni salaries. Among the notable findings:
- Nearly $83,000 in median early career earnings for graduates
- 74% graduation rate: above national average
- $4,500: estimated price after average financial aid
