Baruch College has been named the nation’s top public college for value—and No. 5  among 1,450 public and private institutions—in Niche’s 2027 Best Value Colleges in America rankings, earning recognition as one of the country’s leading institutions for affordability, value, and student success.

The ranking puts Baruch ahead of nationally recognized institutions including Stanford University, Harvard University, Yale University, and Columbia University.

Drawing on data from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of student and alumni reviews, Niche evaluates colleges on factors including net price, alumni earnings, graduation rates, student debt, and economic mobility.

    A Focus on Student Success

The ranking recognizes colleges that combine affordability with strong student outcomes. New this year, Niche introduced an Economic Mobility Index that measures changes in economic status among low-income students.

Baruch continues to stand out in both areas. According to Niche, alumni report median earnings of more than $80,000 five years after graduation, compared with a national average of approximately $45,000. Niche also reports that more than 90 percent of Baruch alumni are employed within one year of graduation.

    ‘The Opportunities are Endless’

Niche notes Baruch’s “knowledgeable and approachable faculty,” and “vibrant academic environment,” while student reviews point to the College’s strong emphasis on career readiness and the advantages of its Manhattan location.

Students point to the College’s extensive networking events, career fairs, and internship opportunities, as well as its longstanding connections to Wall Street firms and Fortune 500 companies.

    As one student reviewer noted:

“I would advise anyone to give Baruch a try if they are willing to work hard. The professors are very compassionate about teaching and educating their students. The opportunities are endless.”
