About the Gilman Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship — awarded twice annually with deadlines every March and October — broadens the student population that studies or interns abroad by supporting undergraduates who might not otherwise participate due to financial constraints.
According to the Department of State, the Gilman Program is an opportunity for students to gain “proficiency in diverse languages and cultures, skills that are critically important to their academic and career development.”
Since the program’s inception in 2001, more than 38,000 Gilman Scholars from throughout the nation have studied or interned in more than 160 countries around the globe.
Study Abroad Interest
Students from all three Baruch schools who are interested in either applying for the next Gilman cycle or who want to learn more about other programs to study overseas can visit Baruch’s Study Abroad Office, which is part of the Weissman Center for International Business.
