Suit Up For Success Program Helps Students Get Career-Ready
Thanks to Baruch Alumni, Students Received Free Professional Attire at Starr Career Development Center EventMarch 7, 2023
More than 200 Baruch College students refreshed their wardrobe—at no cost—for job interviews, career fairs, internships, and networking events at Suit Up For Success, an annual program hosted by the Starr Career Development Center.
The program, founded by Starr’s Director Ellen Stein, PhD, in 2014, provides much-needed professional attire and accessories for any student as they pursue opportunities to advance their career goals.
For Alice Lau (’23), a marketing major at the Zicklin School of Business, the event was a success. “It was beneficial for me because I don’t know what to buy when looking for business casual, and I was able to find a couple of great items.”
Bruno Rodriques (’23), an economics major at the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, agreed: “It was very useful to people looking for a great fit at zero cost!”
Alumni Helping Students
This year, the professional attire was donated entirely by Baruch alumni.
Kate Ogneva-Dobryanskaya (MBA ’14), who was among the 60 alum donors, said she was “glad to give these suits to someone who can really use them. I interviewed for all my jobs in them!”
“Baruch alumni have been donating since 2016 and are thrilled that clothes they no longer need can be put to good use and are helping a Baruch student as part of the process,” said Janet Rossbach, director of Alumni Relations, Volunteer Engagement at Baruch College
