Top Companies Recruit for Talent at Baruch College’s Spring 2022 Job and Internship Fair

The Starr Career and Development Center’s Job and Internship Fair provides students an opportunity to network with Fortune 500 companies, impactful nonprofits, and other top global brands.

More than 60 employers—many representing top national and multinational companies—came to Baruch’s Spring 2022 Virtual Job and Internship Fair to seek talent for their organizations.

The firms included Fortune 500 companies, top global brands, and impactful nonprofits, such as Amazon, Target Corp., KPMG, Morgan Stanley, and the pioneering social services organization Breaking Ground.

“Our employer partners know that our Baruch students have the skills, talent, drive, and leadership qualities they need for their organizations,” said Ellen Stein, PhD, Director of the Starr Career Development Center, which organized and hosted the event.

According to Stein, the virtual fair was packed with activity. Over 540 undergraduates registered—from 19 different majors across the College—and engaged in over 1,000 individual chats with employers and nearly 800 group chats.

A student explained why the event was beneficial: “It was a wonderful experience. So many employers and they all had positive energy and the sessions were informative. Overall, I enjoyed it and grateful to be a part of it. I met with five of 61 [employers], it was a lot, but I guarantee there is at least one who has something you are looking for.”

Starr Career Development Center: A Go-To Resource

This marked the second straight spring semester Starr held the event virtually due to Covid-related restrictions. Despite the online environment, Stein said the event continues to be a success for students and employers alike.

“Our students are thoroughly prepared for today’s networking and interviews,” Stein added. “At Starr, we continually provide hands-on workshops, resume building, and career counseling throughout the year. We also work closely with employers so Baruch can remain a go-to resource for talent.”
