Baruch College continues to receive national recognition for its graduate programs, as the Zicklin School of Business and Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs both placed in U.S. News & World Report’s just-released “2020 Best Graduate Schools” list.

Zicklin’s Full-Time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program received its highest ranking of all-time, coming in at #52 out of the 465 MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. Among public institutions in New York State and New York City, the Full-Time MBA program ranked #1.

Additionally, Zicklin’s Part-Time MBA program (called Evening MBA on the Zicklin website) tied at #74 nationwide out of 323 colleges surveyed by U.S. News & World Report. The Part-Time MBA program remains the most highly ranked among all public institutions in New York State.

“The Zicklin Full-Time MBA Program’s continued rise in the rankings is the result of an innovative curriculum that includes data science and analytics, machine learning, and cybersecurity,” said H. Fenwick Huss, PhD, Willem Kooyker Dean of the Zicklin School of Business. “A Zicklin School education culminates in experiential learning opportunities that allow students to plan strategically, solve real-world problems, and eventually lead major businesses around the globe.”

The Marxe School tied for #39 in the U.S. out of 285 master’s programs in public affairs and administration surveyed. Baruch’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is #1 among public institutions in New York City, and #2 in New York State.

“To realize the full promise of an excellent public education, programs have to match extraordinary value with exceptional outcomes. The Marxe School’s ranking among the best programs in the USA is proof positive that access and achievement go hand-in-hand,” said David Birdsell, PhD, Marxe Dean.

More than 88 percent of recent Marxe graduates are employed at nonprofits and government agencies in a variety of critical positions. Birdsell said that Marxe graduates go on to “outstanding careers in the public and nonprofit sectors, lifting communities through their innovative work.”

    Methodology

Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing, including specialties in each area. The Best Graduate Schools rankings in these areas are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. The data for the rankings in all six disciplines were conducted in fall 2018 and early 2019. Read more about how U.S. News calculated the 2020 Best Graduate Schools rankings here.
