Zicklin School Receives Dual Accreditations in Business and Accounting from AACSB
March 7, 2025
After an intensive review that included a two-day visit by a peer review team, the Zicklin School of Business was officially notified in February that its dual accreditations in business and accounting were extended by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
AACSB accreditation is the gold standard for business education and is recognized around the globe. Just 6 percent of business schools worldwide have achieved AACSB accreditation.
“This shows that we innovate and manage effectively, have rigorous curricula for our majors and degree programs that are current and relevant, assess and improve learning outcomes, and advance impactful scholarship in our fields of research,” said Bruce W. Weber, PhD, Willem Kooyker Dean of the Zicklin School.
The Zicklin School has maintained accreditation by the AACSB since 1933, while the Stan Ross Department of Accountancy has maintained its separate AACSB accreditation since 1984. Of the 1,037 business institutions around the globe that have earned AACSB accreditation, the Zicklin School is one of 195 that have earned this dual accreditation.
Dr. Weber added that many Zicklin School faculty and staff members contributed to this success, singling out Associate Deans Marios Koufaris, Kannan Mohan, and Gwendolyn Webb; Director of Accreditation and Curriculum Management Lisa Kerrigan; Department Chair-Stan Ross Department of Accountancy Donal Byard; and Institutional Research Specialists Keitha Duhaney and Sarah Loebis for special mention.
In addition, AACSB has lengthened its cycle to six years from five, meaning that the next continuous improvement process will begin in 2029-30 with self-study, followed by a review visit in 2030-31.
