Baruch College lands in the top spot nationally and in the northeast with a new, create-your-own college ranking tool recently launched by The New York Times and business intelligence leader Morning Consult.

Build Your Own College Rankings –– which draws from an extensive database of 900 four-year colleges and universities—empowers perspective students and their families to find the right college for them.

This one-of-a-kind tool prompts users to select among 10 key priorities to answer the question: “What matters most to you when choosing a college?” Based on their choices, the formula creates instantaneous, customized college rankings.

Using the slider tools, Baruch College ranks #1 nationwide for students who prioritize a combination of:

    • Academic Profile
    • High Earnings
    • Low Sticker Price
    • Low Net Price
    • Economic Mobility
    • Economic Diversity
    • Racial Diversity

In the northeast, Baruch lands the #1 spot among public institutions in a seemingly countless combination of categories.

    Student Survey and Ranking Methodology

The New York Times and Morning Consult surveyed 2,000 people between the ages of 16 and 19 and 2,000 between the ages of 22 and 33. The survey found that respondents rated the affordability of tuition and their likely earnings after graduation as the most important factors in the college experience. These factors were more important than whether the school is public or private, has varsity sports, Greek life, and class size.
